In this article we cover both the heavy vehicle end of the market with the UD Quon 8x4 and the light commercial van market with an overview of the Renault Master SWB.
Showcase: UD Quon 8x4
With COVID-19 social distancing restrictions limiting in-person events, that is new truck release pr events, UD Trucks embraced technology and launched the new addition to the Quon range, the 8x4, via a video to the media and industry notables.
UD has described the Quon 8x4 has a highly versatile vehicle which will be suited to a wide range of applications such as general distribution, waste management uses, as an agitator, in a range of construction settings and plenty more. The 11 litre version would also be suitable for mining applications.
The Quon is available with 2 engine choices, 3 output choices, a number of wheelbase combinations to suit a wide range of applications and incorporates an impressive list of comfort, productivity and most importantly, safety improvements.
Engine choices are the 8.0 litre and the 11.0 litre with wheelbase choices, depending on engine size, starting at 4500mm moving up to 5200mm and top of the selection is the 5700mm. Whichever of the engines you select, both are Euro 6 compliant!
In the safety zone, disc brakes all-round, Traffic Eye emergency brake, optional driver alert system to detect drowsiness, electronic stability, lane departure warning and radar cruise control
Inside – the cab design and set up is in line with other Quon models- ergonomically sound and with that European edge of style.

Showcase: Renault Master
If you’re work is more local city and urban based, we bring the Renault Master Van into your viewing area as this light commercial van regularly ranks high in its category and has received an upgrade. According to the manufacturer’s spokesperson, this upgraded Master is designed to make the job of those in the delivery industry a lot easier.
In the 2020 version, you immediately notice the new front end on the Master. On the exterior, note the vertical grille, elevated bonnet line, C-shaped lights and chrome finishes. The interior has had a makeover with a redesigned dash and larger compartments for storage. Plenty of tech with a 7” touchscreen with useful connectivity.
For convenience, the centre seat becomes a handy work station or a third seat and there’s plenty of safety features as you would expect from this leading French manufacturer. There are 4 wheelbase lengths and 2 gearboxes so you should be able to find a combo that suits your workload.
