Freightliner Coronado 114 SD
Specified for Australian Conditions
It’s no secret that Australian road conditions are some of the harshest in the world, especially for truckers with outback runs. So the decision by Freightliner to create a truck especially for the Australian market has been welcomed, with the Coronado 114 already being selected by a number of large fleet operators
The Freightliner Coronado 114 SD has been tested extensively in extreme Australian conditions and presents as the truck that many operators have long awaited. A truck which has been built to excel in specific roles and is all about maximising income for operators across a range of uses.
Range of Configurations
The Coronado 114 is available in a range of configurations including Tipper and Dog, Pocket B-Double, Tanker, B-Double, Single Trailer and Light Weight Fuel. Made of lightweight but high strength aluminium, the cabin delivers driver safety and comfort features.
A number of key features define the Coronado 114 as truly set for Aussie conditions
A large radiator provides sufficient reserve capacity and the cab height is increased by 50mm to allow greater airflow through the engine tunnel to maintain performance in the hottest conditions.
The front axle is set forward, it has a big bore engine, a short bumper to back of cab and a low tare to maximise loads.
The twin steering box system increases stability which is particularly relevant for outback roadtrain operators.https://www.freightliner.com.au/trucks/coronado-114
The engine is a big bore Detroit Diesel DD15, available from 475-600 hp which can deliver up to 1850 lb-ft of torque.
Despite the harsh conditions you are working in, the Coronado 114 has been fitted with numerous features to ensure operator comfort. The driver is isolated from the outside with double door seals, noise reduction materials and thermal insulation and ‘pillow block’ front cab mounts to reduce the effect of bumpy roads.
The cabins are wider than most and choices include a day cab and two sleeper options.
High-backed air suspension seats, chrome and leather steering wheel, ergonomically designed injection-moulded dash, and stylish interior features add to the driver comfort appeal of the Coronado 114.
While Freightliner is the leader in heavy trucks in the USA, the company is a key business unit of Mercedes Benz Australia/Pacific and owners are supported with a service network Australia-wide. So Australian operators can reap the benefits of both American and European market leadership specified to our local conditions.
